SHRA Governing Boards
As a Joint Powers Agency (JPA), the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency is under the authority of the City of Sacramento, the City Housing Authority, the County of Sacramento, the County Housing Authority, and/or the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Commission depending on the issue and the authorities delegated.

The City will continue to hold special SHRA Focused Meetings meetings in 2024 at 2 pm on the following dates: February 13, March 12, April 9, May 7, June 11, September 17, October 8, and November 12. Refer to the links below to review agendas for the SHRA Commission, the City of Sacramento, and the County of Sacramento, where SHRA business will be discussed. These agendas and related materials will be posted 72 hours prior to the meeting.
Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Commission meetings are held as needed on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 4:30 pm at 801 12th Street, 2nd Floor.
Commission Seat Vacancy
There is currently a vacant county seat nomination for District 4. Individuals interested in applying for this position may do so through the Sacramento County Clerk’s Office. The seat will remain open until it is filled.

Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Commission
The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Commission is an 11-member governing board for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency. The Commission serves as an advisory body that reviews and makes recommendations on SHRA items before they move on for final approval from either the Sacramento City Council or the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors on matters related to community development, affordable housing, Housing Authority projects, programs and budgets. The Commission meets twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month (as needed) at 4:30 p.m. at 801 12th Street, Commission Room, 2nd Floor, Sacramento, CA. Please refer to Commission’s meeting calendar for specific meeting dates.
SHRA Commission members serve four-year terms. The Board of Supervisors appoints 6 members and the City Council appoints 5 members. Two Commission members are residents who live in either City or County Public Housing. City appointees are limited to a maximum of two consecutive terms. City of Sacramento
The Sacramento City Council is the governing entity of the City of Sacramento and also serves as the governing board of the Housing Authority of the City of Sacramento. The City of Sacramento and City Housing Authority are members of SHRA’s Joint Powers Agency (JPA) agreement. As members of the JPA, the City Council/Housing Authority are responsible to review and approve new policies, projects, and programs proposed by SHRA staff. Reports are submitted to the City for approval as needed to carry out these activities. The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors is the governing entity of the County of Sacramento and also serves as the governing board of the Housing Authority of the County of Sacramento. The County of Sacramento and County Housing Authority are members of SHRA’s Joint Powers Agency (JPA) Agreement.
