| The Public Housing Program (non-HCV/Section
8) provides assistance to help low income persons afford safe, decent and
sanitary housing. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
provides funds to the Sacramento Housing Authority to administer the program
in City and County of Sacramento. Eligible families/individuals pay a
portion of their income towards the rent once they select a Public Housing
unit that becomes available. Click here to

When will I hear from
someone about my pre-application?
If you submit your pre-application electronically, you
will receive an electronic confirmation number that is your receipt. Write
down this number and keep it for your records. If you submit a paper
pre-application, a receipt will be sent to you in November 2008.

How will the pre-applications be sorted?
All applicants will be placed in order according to a
computerized random selection. The Housing Authority will use this process
to create a waiting list of 10,000 families. All families who apply will be
notified in November whether they were selected or not selected for the waiting
list.

you continue to report any changes in address, income and family composition
immediately.
