Information Related to the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009
The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment
Agency (SHRA) has received authorization from the Sacramento Board of
Supervisors and the Sacramento City Council to administer approximately
$47 million in formula federal economic stimulus funds awarded under the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), and the Housing and
Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (HERA), Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
SHRA has applied for an additional $46.8 million in competitive funds
under ARRA that are available to local jurisdictions. These funds will be
used to support projects or activities to:
- Address the impact of foreclosures
- Provide homeownership opportunities for low and moderate income
households
- Improve public housing
- Create jobs through partnerships with developers and small builders
- Assist in preventing homelessness
- Increase energy efficiency, and
- Stimulate the region’s economy
SHRA has created a system of accountability
and transparency that will allow the public to track spending and stay
informed about our progress on the projects and activities created and
funded under federal economic recovery legislation. This system will
include a Report Card to measure performance factors including using funds
appropriately and efficiently, benefiting households, creating and
retaining jobs, promoting energy efficiency, and benefiting the community. |
