Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provide one-time funding for homeless prevention under the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP).

The City of Sacramento will receive an allocation of $2,375,126 and the County of Sacramento will receive an allocation of $2,396,773. Working with the Department of Human Assistance (DHA), the HPRP will rapidly transition program participants to housing stability, either through their own means or through public assistance by funding homelessness prevention or re-housing for households (individuals or families) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Applications to HCD for HPRP Funds

In addition to receiving HPRP funds directly from HUD, SHRA has applied to the   California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for competitive HPRP funds.  Three separate applications have been submitted for three distinct geographic areas of Sacramento County.  Available here are the application and major attachments for one of the three areas (Central City & Eastern Sacramento County), the City and County staff reports approving all three applications, and a map of the three geographic areas.

Federal Reporting

Reports on program status are submitted to the Federal government on a quarterly basis.  Reports submitted to date are listed below.  Summary information on all recovery fund reports received by the Federal government is available at Recovery.gov.
