Community Development Block Grant Program

| The American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) includes significant one-time funding of $1
billion for the Community Development Block Grant program for recovery
activities CDBG-R). Funding will be distributed based on the formula used
for the annual CDBG entitlement program. Approximately $3.1 million has
been allocated distribution in Sacramento County. The allocation for the
City of Sacramento is $1,553,219. The amount allocated for the County of
Sacramento is $1,567,415. SHRA has proposed several uses for the CDBG-R funds in the City of Sacramento which include $1,100,000 for the 2009 Township 9 Building Demolition Project, $221,219 for the 2009 La Valentina Infrastructure Project, and $232,000 in public service dollars to support homeless prevention activities. Projects proposed for CDBG-R funds in the County of Sacramento include $1,332,415 for the 2008 Auburn Boulevard Streetscape Project and $235,000 for homeless prevention activities. Contact |
