FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency Names Former State Deputy Treasurer Laurie Weir as Deputy Executive Director (January 27, 2007: Sacramento, CA.) -- Laurie Weir, who served as Deputy Treasurer of the State of California has been named Deputy Executive Director for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA). “We are extremely pleased to have Laurie on our team,” said SHRA Executive Director Anne M. Moore. “She has more than 13 years of professional experience in public policy, finance, and community investment at the state and local level. We are looking forward to Laurie sharing her firsthand knowledge of best practices in community and affordable housing development from across the nation which she can help us to implement here in Sacramento.” As Deputy Treasurer in the California State Treasurer’s Office, Weir supervised the annual allocation of over $3.5 billion in public financing including tax credits, tax exempt bonds and grants for single family and rental affordable housing, job creation and retention, and alternative energy and transportation. She was also responsible for oversight of development and implementation of funding programs that focused on positive community impact and maximizing public benefit. Weir previously served for six years as Executive Director of the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee in the Treasurer’s office, overseeing a $3 billion annual allocation in tax- exempt bond authority for single family and rental affordable housing, business expansion for small manufacturers, and solid waste recycling facilities.
