NEWS EDITORS: NEWS DIGEST/COMMUNTY NEWS/CALENDARS SOUTH SACRAMENTO/OAK PARK WORKSHOP PLANNED FOR COMMUNITY INPUT ON OAK PARK’S MLK BOULEVARD STREETSCAPE AND URBAN DESIGN MASTER PLAN Walking tour planned to generate vision and design for improvements; Local students and faculty urged to share ideas on pedestrian and safety elements WHAT: Community workshop and meeting hosted by Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency to help plan and create a vision for the future of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Oak Park. A walking tour and visioning and design process lead by Dan Burden, a nationally recognized authority on bicycle and pedestrian facilities and programs, will help participants develop ideas and concepts for desired improvements. Architecture and design firm Mogavero Notestine Associates will present design and improvement alternatives at a community meeting based on ideas gathered during the workshop.
