SHRA has many different types of programs aimed at assisting developers in the development of affordable housing.

Multifamily Development Assistance Programs (12+ Units)

SHRA offers gap financing and issuance of tax-exempt bonds for the development or acquisition/rehabilitation of multifamily rental housing projects of 12 or more units in the City of Sacramento and unincorporated areas of the County of Sacramento through the Multifamily Housing Loan Program and Mortgage Revenue Bond Program.  SHRA uses funding derived from various federal, state, and local sources to finance affordable multifamily housing projects through direct loans to developers to supplement private equity and other debt.  SHRA issues tax-exempt mortgage revenue bonds for multifamily projects that meet state and federal requirements.  Under certain cooperation agreements, SHRA may also finance affordable housing developments in other cities within the County.  All housing financed by SHRA carries affordability restrictions on some or all of the units.

Multifamily Development Assistance Programs (10 or less units)

SHRA offers different programs aimed at the development, acquisition, rehabilitation or acquisition and rehabilitation of single or multi-family complexes of 10 units or less.
