The Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8) provides assistance
to help low income persons afford safe, decent and sanitary housing. The Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides funds to the Sacramento Housing
Authority to administer the program in Sacramento County.
In addition to assisting clients with their housing, the Housing Choice Voucher
Program provides many owner benefits, such as guaranteed month checks, ready
supply of tenants, annual property inspections, strict tenant guidelines and
free advertising.
