INVITATION FOR BID

 

The Housing Authority of the City of Sacramento is soliciting sealed bids for Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. IFB #2009095-PS for Sherman Oaks Rehab 2009, repair sidewalk and gutters, re-paint exteriors, remove & replace water heater and remove & replace wood bumpers at existing trash enclosure located at 3543 1st Avenue, Sacramento, CA  95817.  Possible subcontracting trades are Concrete; Construction Clean-up; Painting & Decorating; Plumbing; and Scaffolding. The estimated bonding range is between $35,000 and $40,000). 

 

Bids will be received at the Procurement Services Division, 320 Commerce Circle, Sacramento, California until 2:00 P.M. on December 2, 2009 at which time and place all bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud.

A deposit of $50.00 check or money order only is required for the first set of plans and any additional plans may be purchased through Signature Reprographics.  Deposits will be refunded if plans are returned in good condition, to Signature Reprographics, no later than three weeks after bid opening.

All interested licensed “B” General Building Contactors should plan to attend the first Pre-Bid Conference scheduled for November 13, 2009 at 10:00am, at 320 Commerce Circle, Sacramento, California with a site visit following the Pre-Bid Conference. The site visit will only be conducted immediately following the Pre Bid Conference.  All contractors are urged to attend the Pre-Bid Conference including the site inspection.  Prime contractors are encouraged to bring any subcontractors interested in visiting the site to the Pre Bid Conference and site visit. Although attendance is not mandatory, contractors will be required to verify that they are aware of the existing site conditions.

 

This contract is subject to the Buy American requirements of Section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA); whereby, “all of the iron, steel, and manufactured goods used in the project are domestic.”  This contract is also subject to Section 1606 of the ARRA requiring the payment of prevailing wages in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act.

 

This contract is subject to Federal labor standards, affirmative action requirements, Section 3 Requirements of the HUD Act of 1968, Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise standards.  All bidders will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Bid Bond in the amount of not less than 10% of the total bid price.  The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of not less than 100% of the contract price.  Pursuant to the California Public Contract Code Section 22300 the Contractor may request that the Agency substitute a security in the amount of the performance retention.
