1.      Call to Order and Welcoming Remarks

Buddy Bergstrom called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

2.      Roll Call

RAC Members in Attendance:  Ash, Bergstrom, Harlan, Mack, Mulligan C., Mulligan, M., and Ogden.

RAC Members Absent:  Funner, Marcus, Mcleary, J., Mcleary E., Roberts, and Scoggins.

Staff and Guests in Attendance: Vickie Smith, Aaron Sussman, Todd Leon, Linda Bloom

 

3.      Approval of April 21, 2005 RAC Meeting Minutes

Motion/Second:  Minutes Approved (Jeff Ogden/Todd Harlan)

Vote:  Unanimous in favor.

 

4.      Councilmember Update

No Councilmember update this month.

 

6.  Officer Nominations        

Postpone until next month.

 

7.   Del Paso Blvd. Streetscape Public Art

Linda Bloom reviewed RFP process, art elements to be included in streetscape, and schedule for art.  RAC members interested in review committee included Colleen, Mike, Jeff, Todd and Ken.  Their preference was evening meetings.

 

Buddy suggested that art near police memorial be installed.  Jeff suggested that a chamber representative be involved in the art selection.

 

8.  Minor Infrastructure and Special Project fund guidelines

Staff presented draft application and discussed possible criteria with group.  RAC suggested that rating requests as they are submitted versus an RFP or first come, first served was best approach to allocate the funds.  RAC members requested that staff bring back bring a rating system next month.  Jeff suggested projects that bring leverage funds be rated highly.  Buddy suggested adding a requirement to attach a picture.

 

 

9.  Minor Infrastructure and Special Project Fund Project Request  - La Rosa Road Alley Gates

            Staff mentioned that RAC may want to consider holding off until after criteria is set to review this item.   Buddy motioned to carry over  La Rosa gate issue to next meeting.  Todd seconded.  La Rosa Road resident testified as to need for alley gates in her area.    Jeff then made a new motion to approve the request,  Ken 2nd the motion. Motion carried.

 

10. City of Sacramento Infill Model House Plans – Aaron Sussman, City Planning Department reviewed the City’s Infill house plan program.

 

11. City of Sacramento General Plan Update  Aaron Sussman, City Planning Department gave the group an update on the general plan and encouraged attendance at upcoming metings.

 

12. Swanston Station Transit Village Plan Update – Todd Leon, City Planning Department gave the group an update at the Swanston Station plans.

 

 

13.  Redevelopment Updates 

        SHRA staff reviewed status of the following:

  • Team Building – set for July 30th from 9-1.
  • Streetscape – Project contractor selected. Groundbreaking June 22nd.
  • Surrealestates – Project under construction. Completion by Fall of 2005.
  • PBID – May 24th  date for Council final action on PBID.
  • Neighborhood USA Conference – staff encouraged attendance at upcoming conference.

        Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
