Sheedy announced several upcoming events during the holidays including a tree
lighting ceremony at the fire station, a holiday buffet and the Robert’s Family

5. Subcommittee Reports – Design Review Subcommittee
The
Design Review subcommittee has recently reviewed one new single family

6B. Housing Choice Voucher
Program (Informational Item)
Ms.
Chiang presented an informational item on changes made by the US Department of
Housing and Urban Development to the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly
Section 8). Due to the changes, SHRA and
many other public housing agencies are not receiving sufficient funds to pay landlords
for all the vouchers currently issues.
SHRA has an approximately $1.8 million funding gap for December
2004. After reviewing many options,
Agency staff is recommending an emergency allocation to the Housing Authority
from redevelopment areas’ low/mod tax increment funds. The expected amount is $155,000 per
redevelopment area. The Agency is
committed to backfill these funds with other funds in the future to provide
additional affordable housing opportunities in the area.

will be calling a meeting of the art committee to review artwork for the
