Del Paso Nuevo

Del Paso Nuevo is a 150-acre all new home development being completed through a joint effort by both public and private partnerships. It is one of the largest all-new home developments ever undertaken by SHRA. This new master planned community will have about 300 new single-family homes, two new community parks, landscaped monument entries and many other amenities. The first phase of homes is being completed by CC Myers Homes with new housing expected in early 2002. Many of these homes are guaranteed for qualified low-income and moderate-income families.  Del Paso Nuevo Symbol

Greater Sacramento Urban League

Greater Sacramento Urban League Building
GSUL Building
The Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL)  building was a project initiated and funded through the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency. Located on the corner of Marysville Boulevard and Grand Avenue the GSUL building has won awards for its creative design, while serving the community with educational programs   that add economic vitality to the Del Paso Heights area. Completed in April of 2001, the new location of the GSUL has created a symbol of growth for Marysville Blvd and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Dream Street

The Dream Street project is an annual event coordinating the efforts of numerous local and national businesses and agencies with the aim of renovating and improving homes on a residential block. Improvements are conducted in landscaping, roofing, electrical work, plumbing, drywall and in any other areas of the home that might need some touching up. Homeowners should represent over fifty percent of the residents on the block, show a genuine dedication in upholding and maintaining their neighborhoods, as well as demonstrate an ability to effectively organize their block as a cohesive unit to meet the criteria for consideration of the Dream Street project. With visionary leadership, and an army of volunteers, the Dream Street project significantly advances the goals of the Del Paso Heights Redevelopment Area.

Grant Union High School

Grant Union High School of the Del Paso Heights community, located on Grand Ave. just off Marysville Blvd., is currently involved in developing a decorative wrought iron fence for the perimeter of the campus. This project is a joint effort between the Del Paso Heights Redevelopment Advisory Committee, the Grant Joint Union High School District, and the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency.

Marysville Boulevard Urban Design Plan

The Marysville Boulevard Urban Design Plan addresses the community’s desire to improve the outward appearance of its existing commercial district, and to bolster the competitiveness and viability of its primary commercial corridor. The plan represents the priorities and vision of community leaders, youth, business owners, residents, redevelopment Advisory Committee members, and City and Agency staff who worked together over the course of six community workshops. In an unprecedented partnership that focused on the skills and talents of youth as tomorrow’s leaders, a plan was created that links redevelopment principles with community goals for a more safe, pedestrian-friendly, and vibrant urban corridor.
