Meeting Minutes

I.                   CALL TO ORDER

Ms. Chiang called the meeting to order at approximately 5:35 p.m.

 

II.                ROLL CALL

Roll call was conducted.

RAC Members Present:  Mario Affinito, Jose Chacon, Don Colquitt, Joe Hensler, Burnie Lenau, Tim Lien, Dorothy Medley, Ted Ortiz, Rosalie Vierra, Steve Vourakis

RAC Members Absent: None

Staff Present: Ya-yin Chiang and Chris Pahule (SHRA)

 

III.             REDEVELOPMENT ITEMS

 

A.         Nominations and Elections of Officers

On a motion by Mr. Vourakis and seconded by Mr. Chacon, committee members nominated Mr. Lien for Chairperson, Mr. Lenau for Vice-Chairperson, and Mr. Hensler for Secretary.  The committee approved by a unanimous vote on a motion by Mr. Vourakis and seconded by Ms. Vierra, the election of the officers as nominated.

 

            B.         Army Depot Five-Year Implementation Plan – Project Priorities

Ms. Chiang gave a detailed presentation on the Army Depot Five-Year Implementation Plan which included information on the current budget for the project area and projections.  Ms. Chiang also presented revised estimated redevelopment investment figures for the non-housing and housing program, based on percentages of investment.  Committee members continued to have questions about the estimated redevelopment investment and additional questions about the current budget and projections.  Committee members present approved by unanimous vote to approve the Implementation Plan without the policy consideration of increasing the expenditure of housing funds from 20% to 25% on a motion by Mr. Hensler and seconded by Mr. Colquitt.

           

C.         Redevelopment Area Report

1.       Ms. Chiang indicated that the Agency has requested a meeting with Mr. Fisher of Depot Park and that the dates that were being discussed for the meeting were November 18, November 19 in the morning, November 22 in the afternoon, and November 23 in the morning.  Committee members indicated that November 19 seemed to be the best date for the meeting.  Ms. Chiang indicated that someone from the Agency would follow-up with RAC members on the details of the meeting.

2.       Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, there will not be a regularly scheduled RAC meeting held on November 24, 2004.

 

IV.              COMMUNICATION FROM RAC MEMBERS AND PUBLIC ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

None.

 

V.                 ADJOURNMENT - The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:30 p.m. on a motion by Mr. Lien and seconded by Mr. Chacon.
