I. CALL TO ORDER
Ms. Katherine Klein called the meeting to order at approximately 6:05 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL
Roll call was conducted.
RAC Members Present: Matthew Altier, Jonathan Clayton, Steve Jones, Katherine Klein, Gary Little, Betty Lopez, Esther Rios-Alexander, Howard Schmidt, Dave Sikich, Christopher Wilson
RAC Members Absent: Jim Donovan, Taiwo Jaiyeoba, J.D. Stack, Brian Vail, Joshua Wood
Staff Present: Ya-yin Chiang (SHRA), Todd Leon (City Planning)
Community members in attendance introduced themselves.
III. APPROVAL OF August 5, 2004 RAC MEETING MINUTES
The minutes were approved by a unanimous vote on a motion by Mr. Little and seconded by Mr. Schmidt.
IV. REDEVELOPMENT ITEMS
A. 65th Street Infrastructure Needs Presentation
Mr. Dave Brent, Engineering Services Manager with the City of Sacramento Department of Utilities gave a presentation on the Drainage and Combined Sewer System Mitigation for North/South 65th Street Development. The presentation covered general information about the Department of Utilities, how improvements are funded, current conditions in the 65th Street area, an overview of the drainage and sewer capacity issues in the area, proposed mitigation projects and financing options.
B. 65th Street Implementation Plan – Draft Projects List
Ms. Chiang presented the draft 65th Street Implementation Plan to the committee which included a draft projects list. Minor changes were recommended by Committee members which will be reflected in the final draft of the plan.
C. Redevelopment Area Update
1. Folsom Boulevard Widening – The first public meeting for the Folsom Boulevard Widening Project will be on Wednesday, September 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the CSUS Alumni Center at 6000 J Street.
2. Sacramento Regional Transit is hosting a TOD Workshop on September 30. Registration is free and available online at RT’s website.
3. The South 65th Street Area Plan will be heard before the City Planning Commission on October 7 and is schedule before the City Council on November 9.
4. Community meetings on the proposed Jefferson Lofts project will be held on September 20 and October 6.
V. COMMUNICATION FROM RAC MEMBERS AND PUBLIC ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA
A community member expressed concern about expanding the public participation at RAC meetings to a broader community.
