Emergency Services and Ending Homelessness
Stable housing provides the foundation for stable living. SHRA funds a variety of emergency shelter, permanent and permanent supportive housing (includes some services) for homeless and low-income individuals and families.
In addition, as part of its commitment to ending homelessness in the Sacrament Region, SHRA, in partnership with the City of Sacramento, the County of Sacramento and the Continuum of Care through Sacramento Steps Forward as the Lead Agency has adopted a “housing first” strategy, which provides homeless people permanent housing with immediate access to services critical to stabilizing their lives. This includes education, job training, and finding treatment for a medical, mental health or addiction problems.
